STB: Another notification likely

The Government is likely to come out with yet another notification making it mandatory for cable operators and MSOs to intimate the subscribers about details of STB.

The cable operator would have to inform the consumers, 15 days before the implementation of CAS in a zone, the type of STB being offered (whether digital or analogue), its technical specifications, the various payment schemes, the maximum time for refund, details of the call centres and another such information. This is being done keeping in mind consumer interest said sources in the I&B Ministry.
