Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany's International broadcasting service, is a modern, forward-looking programme provider with a global reach, It is one of the biggest world broadcasters: around 1,800 employees from 76 nations are engaged in producing informative radio programmes in German and 37 other languages. The 24-hour television programme is transmitted in three languages: German, English and Spanish.
As a public broadcasting service, DW conveys a comprehensive picture of the political, economic and cultural life in Germany Under the terms of its charter it has the task of presenting and commenting on the German view of important national and international issues.
